The constable, who arrived late on Sunday night on the information of a fight between a gym operator and his wife in the Army Garden area of Krishna Nagar outpost of Mathura city police station, found it difficult to rescue him. The gym operator hit the policeman in the head with his stick. The soldier was drenched in blood. A case has been filed against the gym operator and his family members, one on behalf of the injured constable and the other on behalf of the wife’s father. The accused are absconding. Police is busy searching.
According to the incident, Bihari Lal of Maholi village reached Krishna Nagar police post at around 1.30 am on Sunday night with his family. Told that his daughter Pooja was married to Vishnu alias Bhanu Pratap, a gym operator living in Army Garden, in May 2023. He was beating his daughter after locking her in the house. Immediately from the post, a constable named Dharmendra Chaudhary reached the spot along with Bihari Lal. There was a clash between the girl and boy sides.
Gym operator Vishnu brought out the stick and started the attack. When constable Dharmendra intervened, he hit him on the head with a stick. The soldier’s head exploded. Seeing this, Vishnu, his brother Gaurav, Praveen and father Lekhraj fled from the spot. Here, on the information of the constable, the force from the post and police station reached the spot. Dharmendra was immediately taken to the district hospital.
Late night, on the complaint of the injured constable, a case was registered against Vishnu alias Bhanu Pratap, Gaurav, Praveen, sons of Lekhraj, residents of Army Garden in the city police station. The second complaint was given by Bihari Lal regarding harassing his daughter Pooja for dowry. In this also the same accused were named. CO City Praveen Kumar Malik said that the accused are being searched.
